Palm Angels Opens Its "LONELY HEARTS CLUB" Pop-Up Shop in Tokyo
Minato, Tokyo 107-0062, Japan
22 July 2017 to 31 October 2017
Designed to mimic a strip club setting.
Palm Angels, in tandem with Japanese creative agency Tripster Inc., look to flip the traditional pop-up shop on its head and offer an erotic strip club-themed customer experience instead. Dubbed ”LONELY HEARTS CLUB,” the exhibit will mark creative director Francesco Ragazzi’s first shopping installation within Tokyo. Upon entering, shop goers are welcomed by a pair of bold neon signs bearing the taglines “PALM ANGELS PALM ANGELS PALM ANGELS” and “GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS,”leading to a red velvet curtain enclosed corridor. Housed within is a spacious lounge featuring a stage, golden stripper pole and decadent furnishings scattered throughout.
As far as wares go, the setup will spotlight the brand’s 2017 fall/winter offering and a vintage T-shirt collection commissioned by Ragazzi himself, not to mention a selection of accessory items including ashtrays, shot glasses and golf balls. Rounding out the merchandise range is a limited run ”LONELY HEARTS CLUB” shirt design and the collaborative SUICOKE sandals that first hit the scene in Milan during Palm Angels’ 2018 spring/summer presentation.
